Come Share Your Thoughts On: Broadband & Community Development in the City of Bluefield, WV!

Who: Participants include representatives from community agencies, organizations, elected officials, residents, and a technical assistance team with representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the Appalachian Regional Commission. The team includes facilitators from Smart Growth America and Broadband Catalysts who have been contracted by the EPA to help facilitate this engaging community planning process.

What: Stakeholders and community leaders interested in making Bluefield a more connected community by building and leveraging investment in broadband technology. The Public Open House is an opportunity for your voice to be heard. Topics the team will cover include:

  • Revitalizing downtown through leveraging broadband and WiFi technologies.
  • Attracting new businesses to downtown.
  • Leveraging broadband and WiFi to increase visitors and tourist traffic to Bluefield.
  • Generating consensus on goals that can be accomplished within the next several years.

Your participation and knowledge of Bluefield, its uses of broadband technology, culture, economy, and vitality are necessary to help make this event a success.
